Foreword
This proposed Amendment for the planned UNO Resolution on a Gaza ceasefire was sent to the Israeili government and most of the Members of Knesset.
After the Palestinians were shielded against having to bear the natural consequences of their never ending aggressions by the UNO and supposedly benevolent NGOs, this Resolution amendment would break the shield.
Proposed Amendment to the Draft Security Council Resolution on Ceasefire in Gaza
Amendment to the Draft Security Council Resolution on an Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza
The Security Council,
Reaffirming the urgent need for an immediate, unconditional, and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza,
Decides to amend the operative part of the resolution by inserting the following paragraphs:
1. Calls for the immediate and complete cessation of all hostilities by all parties, including Hamas and affiliated armed groups, effective upon adoption of this resolution.
2. Decides that, in the event Hamas and affiliated groups refuse to fully disarm and surrender their weapons after the entry into force of the ceasefire, Israel shall be entitled to establish security buffer zones through the temporary annexation of up to one (1) square kilometre of Gaza Strip territory for each calendar month during which major attacks against Israel originating from Gaza are verifiably carried out. Such measures shall be:
(a) strictly limited to areas posing a direct and imminent security threat, as verified by an independent UN monitoring team;
(b) subject to monthly review and explicit approval by the Security Council to ensure proportionality and full compliance with international law;
(c) fully reversible upon demonstrated and sustained compliance with ceasefire and disarmament obligations by Hamas and affiliated groups.
3. Further decides that any territory temporarily annexed under paragraph 2 shall acquire permanent status as Israeli sovereign territory if Hamas and affiliated groups continue to refuse full disarmament one year after the adoption of this resolution.
4. Decides that the mechanism described in paragraphs 2 and 3 shall remain in force for as long as Hamas or affiliated groups maintain armed capabilities inside Gaza.
5. Requests the Secretary-General to establish, within seven days of adoption, a dedicated monitoring mission to verify compliance, identify violations, and submit monthly reports to the Council with recommendations concerning annexations, reversals, or additional sanctions.
6. Calls upon all Member States to provide diplomatic, logistical, and other support necessary for the full and immediate implementation of this resolution.
This amendment is designed to create strong incentives for compliance while legitimately addressing Israel’s indispensable security requirements, without prejudice to future final-status negotiations conducted in accordance with international law.
